Tortuga Island Costa Rica

Tortuga Island, Costa Rica? On a catamaran? Yes!!!This was an awesome experience! Until this year, we had never done boat excursions. Once we started, we were addicted and wanted to do more! The boat excursion to the island of Tortuga was no different and may be the best excursion thus far!! The journey started from the town of Jaco, about an hour outside of San Jose. From there it’s a 20-25 minute drive to the dock. Once we got to there, we boarded the catamaran owned by CostaCat Cruises. The cost was 130 per person and it included unlimited drinks, snacks and a BBQ on the island. I must admit that the BBQ made by the crew on the island was the best food I had in Costa Rica. This was an all-day event that included snorkeling, banana boat rides, hiking and jet skis. The views and scenery were not just beautiful. They were peaceful as well. The wildlife had no problem approaching us because the island and its animals are used to visitors interacting with them. The locals even know how many animals of a certain species are currently on the island. If you decided to check out Costa Rica, We definitely suggest Tortuga. It’s all about the pura vida in CR!!
